Help, I need a website!

In this day and age a website is one of the most essential and powerful marketing tools a business has. From as little as $500 you can get yourself up and a running with a website to be proud of.

So what are your options when it comes to getting your business online in 2019 (or maybe even into the end of this year)….

1. Build your own website.

Wix, Shopify, Squarespace are the top contenders in the self-build space. If you just need a simple solution building yourself with one of these can be good (or at least ok to start out with for a small business).

The biggest downfall I see with people who have built their own website is the lack of SEO. Search Engine Optimisation (SEO) is what helps you be seen on Google. If this isn’t done right it doesn’t matter what your website looks like, your potential customers won’t be able to find you online. What is challenging about this is it is not easy to do a good job of SEO unless you know what you are doing. It is not as easy to learn as some of the website builders. You need to invest hundreds of hours learning to get SEO right.

2. Get a web designer.

When you are really ready to take your business to the next level it is time to outsource to the experts.

The hardest part can often be picking the right designer. I have fixed so many sites over the year where the clients weren’t happy with the website design, the designer hadn’t listened to their brief, their website wasn’t user-friendly or they just plain hated it. When choosing a designer not everyone is created equal. Cheapest doesn’t always equal better, but nor does the most expensive option guarentee you the best result.

The best thing about using a designer is “this is what we do”. We are experts at getting things right for you, we can build fast, build quality and you can trust in the outcome.

My main building platforms are WordPress and Shopify. Although, I also provide support to Wix and Squarespace sites when needed. Sites start from only $500.
